18-year-old New York rap up-and-comer Paris Bryant demonstrates he has talent far beyond his years in his debut mixtape A Trip to Paris, with features from Jay Gwuapo, YXNG K.A, and more.

Prior to the project’s release, Bryant shared its cover art and tracklist on social media.

New York hip-hop is in an interesting place right now. With several factions—like Brooklyn drill, Bronx drill, and sample drill—all having their own effect on the city, Bryant has a sound that mixes all the prominent waves, but gives them his own twist. On tracks like “My Year” and “Slide,” he croons with the skill of A Boogie or Sleepy Hallow, while on cuts like “Ballin” and “Mad Mad,” he spits with the vigor of drill rappers. Ultimately, Bryant represents the continuous evolution of NYC rap and A Trip to Paris is a clear look at the talent this young artist has.

Along with the release of A Trip to Paris, Paris Bryant also dropped animated visual for his track “Slide” featuring KiDi. The Sims video game aesthetics of the video match its upbeat rhythm as well:
