Bow Wow and Nas Planned a Collaboration Together Back in 2011

Bow Wow shared private messages the two had seven years ago.

Bow Wow and Nas don't make the most obvious duo, but apparently, they were plotting a collab seven years ago.

No, this isn't another #BowWowChallenge. The rapper has proof. Over the weekend, Bow Wow shared a screenshot from a Twitter DM conversation he had with Nas in 2011. Bow Wow reached out first, writing, "Big homie, I want u on my album what I gotta do," and ending it with a "Boweezy" signature for some reason. A day later, Nas got back to him: "Peace lil bro send me a contact to reach u."

Bow Wow didn't share details of the conversation that followed, but the collaboration never happened. "I wanted this soooo bad," he wrote. "STILL DO. ONE DAY I PRAY ONE DAY."

After a series of questionable public decisions over the years, Bow Wow has turned into a bit of a punchline, but the conversation with Nas is a reminder of his status in the early 2000s. He does have three platinum albums to his name and millions of copies sold, after all.

Currently, the 31-year-old rapper is preparing to release his new project Greenlight 6 on May 21. If the song titles are anything to go on, the project probably won't be the most uplifting listen of all time. You can see the tracklist below.
