The Grammy Awards are always a hotly contested ceremony, where we bear witness to the industry's, err, interesting take on which artists made the biggest impact in any given calendar year. Just think back to 2014, when a selection of Macklemore over Kendrick Lamar for the Best Rap Album category stirred up controversy. This year will be no different. So, we thought, why not join in on the fun?
For clarification, we chose each winner based on a number of criteria: Who delivered a better performance (which kind of still matters), as well as what's poppin' on a commercial level (which definitely matters). And, for better or worse, how the Recording Academy committee would vet the nominees. It's not an exact science, obviously. Note: These aren't the selections we personally prefer, though in some cases that does overlap.
Our final results: Beyoncé and Sam Smith win big, Eminem continues his Grammy dominance, and yes, Iggy Azalea infiltrates the rap categories. Be sure to check in Sunday evening to see how accurate we are with our predictions.
