The Beastie Boys will take their story to the stage this year in live shows directed by Spike Jonze.

Beastie Boys Story: As Told By Michael Diamond & Adam Horovitz is set to run for three dates: on April 5 in Philadelphia at the Tower Theater, and April 8 and 9 in New York City at Kings Theatre.

The group shared their final album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two in 2011. In October 2018, the surviving members released Beastie Boys Book, which covered the span of their careers. They also did a series of public appearances to support the tome, including one where they talked about being broke after Licensed to Ill thanks to some harsh business practices by Def Jam.

"Had it not worked out, had we broken up in '87 – and we never got paid by Rick [Rubin] and Russell [Simmons] and Def Jam – it wouldn’t be fine," Diamond said.

The book also memorialized Adam "MCA" Yauch, who lost his battle to cancer in 2012 at the age of 47.

Tickets for Beastie Boys Story: As Told By Michael Diamond & Adam Horovitzwent on sale on March 15. Watch the show trailer above.
