On Thursday night, the Ventura rapper released a new song called “To the Moon”—his first release since the promotional singles “Sunshine” with Miguel, “Off of It” featuring Ty Dolla Sign, and “All Mine” with MadeinTYO. The latest could very well be our first taste of KYLE’s highly anticipated debut album.

all I can think about is putting this album out

The “iSpy” artist spoke about the upcoming project in a 2017 interview with Complex. He insisted the album would highlight a different dimension of his personality and would deliver more than just “happy rap.”

“It’s not about being happy 100 percent all the time, cause that’s just life. I make sad songs too, that really only make the happy songs better,” KYLE explained. “It’s my most personal piece of work I’ve ever done, hands down. I’ve never had so much focus in just using these words to really describe how I’m feeling as a person and what’s really been on my mind and in my heart.”

We’ve yet to receive any solid details about the forthcoming album, such as its title and release date; however, the release of a new single suggests it isn’t too far away.

While we wait it out, you can listen to “To the Moon” now on Apple Music and iTunes or via Spotify.
