Kanye West's Detroit takeover did not disappoint.

On Friday night, the 42-year-old creative staged the Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience at Motor City's Fox Theatre. Few people knew what the occasion would entail, as details were initially kept to a minimum. But after the venue doors opened, Kim Kardashian took to Instagram to post footage of the IMAX experience. Kanye used the event to preview a film, dubbed Jesus Is Lord, as well as his long-awaited ninth studio album, Jesus Is King.

Billboard reports that the new project runs 35 minutes with its 10 tracks. West also introduced Clipse as one of the features on Jesus Is King. (Clipse have been on indefinite hiatus after Pusha-T's brother No Malice dedicated his life to Christianity.) Smooth jazz saxophonist Kenny G reportedly pops up on, "Use This Gospel."

Kanye's ninth studio album was supposed to be Yandhi, but that project was delayed indefinitely after it experienced several pushbacks in 2018.

Ye has also released a range of merch inspired by the project. Each purchase will come with a digital copy of Jesus Is King upon its release.

Kim announced Jesus Is King will be officially released Sunday after listening events in Chicago and New York City.
