As someone who has inspired countless memes, DrakeĀ has demonstrated an innate ability to laugh at himself. Case in point: his recent reaction to the ā€œBreathe ā€¦Ā Breatheā€ audio that has taken overĀ TikTok.

Earlier this week,Ā YouTubeĀ celebrity K Showtime posted a video featuringĀ his fellow Toronto-native inside what appears to be a restaurant. The clipĀ begins with a close-up of K Showtime as he starts playingĀ a recording of Drakeā€™s now-viral quote from an old Instagram Live broadcast from 2019.

ā€œWhat do you mean, ā€˜breathe, breathe?ā€™ā€ Drake was heard saying in response to a viewerā€™s comment. ā€œDonā€™t tell me to breathe ā€¦ Ayo, bring me a shot!ā€

Once the recording begins to play, K Showtime turns the camera to his right and revealsĀ Drake standing alone while on his phone. Though he appeared to be distracted at first, it didnā€™t take long for Drake to recognize the recording, causing him to break out in laughter.

Shortly after K Showtime posted his video,Ā Drakeā€™s fan page @Wordonrd shared more details on the origins of the ā€œbreathe, breatheā€ meme. The person behind the account posted a clip from Drakeā€™s original broadcast, and showed that it was their comment that prompted Drakeā€™s popular quote.

ā€œFUN FACT: He was talking to me cause I told him to breathe,ā€ @Wordonrd wrote.Ā ā€œHe sounded like he was gonna pass out and I was concerned.ā€
