Sarah McLachlan Will Host The 2019 Juno Awards

Sarah McLachlan will host this year’s Juno Awards later this spring in London, Ontario.

At the nominations announcement this morning in Toronto, Junos president Allan Reid introduced McLachlan as one of Canada’s most beloved artists.

“I’m honoured to have been asked to host the 48th Annual JUNO Awards,” said McLachlan. “I know intimately what it feels like to be on the JUNO stage and I feel truly blessed to play a new role for an organization that has supported me throughout my career.”

McLachlan is no stranger to the Juno stage. The Canadian singer, who rose to fame in the 1990s with international hits including “Angel” and “Building a Mystery,” has won 12 Junos including an international achievement award and a humanitarian award.

Shawn Mendes leads the pack of nominees with a total of six, including Artist of the Year. The Weeknd was close behind with five, while newcomer bulow received four nods including Breakthrough Artist of the Year. Loud Luxury also got four nods, including Breakthrough Group of the Year. Other nominees include: Alessia Cara, Bahamas, KILLY, Jann Arden, Michael Bublé and Roy Lanez.

1980s pop heartthrob Corey Hart will also be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during Canada's biggest night in music.

The 2019 Juno Awards will take place at the at Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario on Sunday, March 17, 2019.
