Fresh off dropping his latest single “Hoochie Daddy,” Bobby Shmurda has announced the forthcoming release of his first-post prison project, Bodboy.
Due out August 5, the nine-track EP includes “Hoochie Daddy,” as well as guest appearances from Rowdy Rebel (“On God”) and Fat Tony (“Glock Inside”). In tandem with the announcement, which came in the form of an official press release, Shmurda also revealed his new label GS9 Records, which will operate in partnership with ONErpm.
The news arrives just a few weeks after Shmurda, in a recent interview with HotNewHipHop, indicated that his first post-prison full-length offering, Ready to Live, is scheduled to arrive later this year. He also said that it will feature appearances from DaBaby, Rich the Kid, Meek Mill, Rowdy Rebel, 42 Dugg, and Key Glock among others.
Back in February 2021, Shmurda was released from Clinton Correctional Facility in New York after serving six years of his seven-year sentence. Bobby was arrested in 2014 and charged with a variety of crimes including murder, attempted murder, assault and drug dealing. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2016, but was eligible for early release based on time he had served before pleading guilty and for good behavior in prison.
