Florida rapper 12Honcho has been bubbling for quite some time now, and he's got himself a potential hit on his hands with his latest song, "Depressed." The record initially arrived last month, showcasing his ear for melody and dark subject matter. Now, the Def Jam signee is giving the track a much-deserved second push with its trippy new video.

“Back in Florida I was selling dope and going through a lot shit during a rough part of my life," Honcho told Complex via email. "I had gotten signed, but wasn’t nothing going on, I was trying to move away from the streets to make it happen with music, but shit was getting real in Florida so I flew to L.A. and I hooked up with Bricc Baby on some whole other shit and we ended up going to a studio where I met BloodPop (Shouts out to Bricc by the way. Free him fast)."

Produced by Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga collaborator BloodPop, "Depressed" sees the two meeting in the middle for something that's both easy to sing along with and wallow alone to. "Me and BloodPop connected immediately and we wrote our first record that first day and ever since then we’ve made nothing but magic," Honcho continued. "'Depressed' was like our third song we made. From there Steven Victor [Def Jam's EVP] heard the music and here we are today.”
