John Darnielle -- aka the frontman for indie rock stalwarts The Mountain Goats -- has decided to give one holiday standard a slightly creepy twist. With one choice on-the-spot ad lib, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" goes from being terribly sweet to borderline chilling. He also turns the track into something that wouldn't sound out of place on a Mountain Goats album, which leaves us wondering if Darnielle and his band should just record an album full of Christmas songs.
