Rising Ottawa pop singer 12AM has joined forces with Toronto’s Pressa and Orlando’s Tyla Yaweh for a new track, “Showgirls.”

The single, which dropped Friday, hears 12AM hold down a smouldering hook over a speaker-shaking trap beat, while Tyla and Pressa take turns tapping in for the verses. Together, the holy triumvirate make it rain hypnotic melodies.

“We made Showgirls at Tyla’s crib one night when we had a bunch of people over,” says 12AM about the how the track came together. “Everyone there was going crazy for it, and it was that moment we knew we had something special. Then one night I got in the studio with Pressa and after hearing the track he wanted on it right away, it just came together perfect.”

A video for “Showgirls,” shot late last year in L.A., is set for release in the coming weeks.

The new track is a follow-up to 12AM’s EP After Midnight, which racked up big numbers last year, including over 2 million YouTube views for single “voices” and over 7 million streams.
