We'd all be forgiven for assuming that only horrendous things would be going down in 2020, a year that's not exactly proven itself to be of any substantial level of awesomeness as we enter its third month.

This week, however, everything changed.

Lil Uzi Vert has released a thrillingly references-stacked trailer for Eternal Atake, his long-awaited new project that has accomplished everything from condemnation from surviving Heaven's Gate cult members to a personal uptick in the number of inverted crosses in this writer's personal accessories collection before being released or even formally announced.

Watch the Gibson Hazard and Uzi Vert-directed trailer (dubbed a short film for Eternal Atake "BabyPluto"), which indeed includes a Midsommar-esque cult aesthetic and plenty of imagery that should help us all graduate from the Human Evolutionary Level, up top via YouTube or below.

Uzi, whose new Backstreet Boys-interpolating single "That Way" is out now, also teased three possible covers for Eternal Atake, eventually settling on the one his fans liked the most.

The album itself has also been discussed as possibly being on track for a glorious arrival later this month—Lil Uzi Vert teased as early as two weeks—surely marking a moment that will give this beleaguered planet the strength to press on.

Prior to "That Way," Uzi Vert released "Futsal Shuffle 2020," which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and set off its own challenge on social media. We'll find out soon enough what else he has in store.
