Two titans of the industry, Toronto-born producer René LaVice and Future Cut, have teamed up for an explosive new drop on Metalheadz. René LaVice has a long and accomplished career as a both a drum & bass producer and as the current host of Radio 1's long-standing D&B show. Hit-making duo Future Cut, one the other hand, have a career that's just as impressive with three Number 1 singles to their name (including Lily Allen's "Smile") and a lengthy string of chart-invaders besides.

Now they've put their heads together for a new three-track EP on Goldie's famed Metalheadz label. Ahead of the official release, the trio have just unleashed opening track "Nine Strings", a thundering, climactic piece of D&B with all the fire and fury we've come to expect from Goldie's revered label. Building gradually from a soulful and atmospheric start, the three producers painstakingly build up the tension before the track erupts at the halfway mark into a cataclysm of earth-shaking bass and breaks.

The rest of the EP officially drops January 24.
