Wack 100 isn’t backing down from his claim that Nipsey Hussle isn’t a legend.
On Tuesday, he took to Instagram, where he continued the ongoing debate, which now involves T. I. and Meek Mill. “Naw the question was Legend in Music,” he said. “And because I’m not acting like the sheep following others across the field they find a way to distract you from the real topic which was ‘LEGEND IN MUSIC’ .... All the other shit don’t concern me. I don’t know this mans financial portfolio [sic] nor do I care. But what I do know is the ‘Music’ stats.”
The post was a direct response to T.I.'s own response to Wack’s earlier comments about Nipsey. Tip posted a screenshot of the definition of the word “legend” on Instagram and wrote, “This shit say Nipsey all over it. Record sales and #1 hits ain’t the only barometer for legendary status. IMPACT is what’s important. Although his notoriety DID grow exponentially more after his demise... his impact is undeniable. #HadToBeSaid.”
Meek Mill also chimed in with his thoughts on Monday, though he never called Wack 100 out directly for his remarks. “Nipsey a legend and the definition of real black man!” Meek wrote on Twitter.
Wack later got back on IG to post an old clip of T.I. urging people to report crimes to the authorities. "BEFORE THERE WAS A 69 there was a TI-#ALEGEND @troubleman31 YOU GOT MY LINE.... IM NOT TO BE PLAYED WITH MIND YA BIDNESS .... WACK GIVES NO FUCKS I AM NOT A RAPPE," Wack wrote in the caption of the post. "ONLY LEGENDS GET 12 MONTHS FOR 5000 pills and 25 CHOPPAS ——— NOW BLOG THAT."
Earlier this week, Wack told TMZ why he doesn’t believe Nipsey is a legend. Wack said that his argument wasn't directed at Hussle in particular, and that he objects to the confusion surrounding the title.
“What's a legend? Define a legend?” Wack asked. “Let's keep it real. If Dr. Dre died right now we would say we lost a legend, right? Based upon what? Numbers, right? Body of work. How many albums did Nipsey drop? One album. This not no personal shit I'm talking about. This just some real shit... We have to define what the fuck a legend is.”
Wack did concede that Nipsey was bound for legendary status, and that his life was cut short before he was able to achieve this goal. Wack also explained that having a difference of opinion isn’t the same thing as disrespecting the late rapper’s legacy.
