Premiere: Rising Afropop Singer Melisa Whiskey Rebukes Bad Vibes On "Ajeh" With Mystro

A late but essential addition to your summer playlists.

Teaming up with Wizkid producer Mystro, Hackney-born and Camden-raised singer Melisa Whiskey is today releasing her new single "Ajeh". Fusing the melodious aspects of dancehall, R&B and Afrobeats, the North London singer has created a late but essential addition to your summer playlists. As the sun fades and the temperature begins to dip, use this to maintain the energy at your last barbecue of the year this weekend.

Speaking with Complex via email, Melisa explained the meaning of "Ajeh": "'Ajeh' means witch or evil-doer in the Yoruba language and as it pertains to the song with Mystro, it's all about not letting any bad vibes catch you, turning up and having fun and laughing it off. 'Shey you go shack Hennessey/abi you want whiskey'. Why not have a drink? Just let all bad vibes go and enjoy life."

Pre-order the track here before it officially drops at midnight.
