North London rapper JD Cliffe, who we revealed at the start of the year as one of the emcees to watch, returns today with a fresh update, hinting towards evolution on new drop "Time Of Your Life". Last seen through bright, neon hues in "Long Time", the hazy electro of last year's Neon Jungle EP now seems a world away, as the rapper pushes his vocal range on a downtempo beat, layering rhymes on licks of jazzy percussion.
The Omid Roufi-directed visuals are equally as sparse and introspective as JD tells us of a desire to "switch it up and make something different from my usual", tagging his new single as a "jazzy-influenced bop." Signalling towards a future shift or a one-day experiment brought to life, we'll know more in the coming months.
