The Lil Nas X single has become one of the biggest hits of 2019, shattering streaming records, going triple platinum, and dominating the Hot 100 chart for 14 weeks. But Lil Nas X isn’t done riding “Old Town Road’s” success.
On Thursday night, the record received another remix—this time featuring Young Thug and viral yodeling boy Mason Ramsey. It marked the third official iteration of the track, following the Billy Ray Cyrus-assisted version and the Diplo remix.
Rumors of this collaboration began swirling back in April, when Thugger posted a clip of his verse over the country-trap single.
Lil Nas X continued to tease the remix on social media, posting the Cowboy Hat face emoji next to Thug’s signature snake emoji.
During an interview with TIME back in April, Lil Nas X credited Thug for popularizing the “country-trap” sound heard on “Old Town Road.”
“I believe whenever you’re trying something new, it’s always going to get some kind of bad reception,” he said. “For example, when rap started, or when rock and roll began. But with country trap, I in no way want to take credit for that. I believe Young Thug would be one of the biggest pioneers in that.”
There’s no doubt the Thug and TK features will extend “Old Town Road’s” already impressive run.
