Just last month, Inglewood rapper Thurz released his first single in nearly two years, the Time-and-Prince-channeling "777-9311." But that was only the start. Complex is proud to premiere Thurz's next volley, "Long Live."

The melancholic but hopeful "Long Live" is produced by Jake One. It finds Thurz looking back at some of the now-gone family and friends who have helped shape him into the person he is today.

"The track is about giving impactful people in my life their flowers while they can still smell them. An ode to all the family members and friends that have helped shaped my perspective as a man and human being," the rapper told Complex. "Their teachings along with life experiences create the necessity for 'realness' to be cherished forever. Jake One provided the perfect soundscape to reflect on all that has inspired me. Honor those you love while they're here."

While Thurz has not released music under his own name in several years, he has been busy working with other people. As a songwriter for Dr. Dre's Aftermath, he earned credits on Anderson .Paak's Oxnard. His forthcoming solo project Party in My Living Room will be out later this year.
