Kehlani has announced via Instagram on Monday that she gave birth to her daughter Adeya over the weekend. The 23-year-old singer revealed that her child was delivered in an "unmedicated homebirth," which she called "the absolute hardest yet most powerful thing i’ve ever done."
She followed up her announcement minutes later with another touching discovery she has made since Adeya was brought into the world.
Back in October, Kehlani shared the news of her pregnancy on social media. "I’m so so so happy," she wrote. "The highest blessing one could receive. I love you already, mama. 4 months & so grateful." In her Instagram post, which has since been deleted, she spoke openly about dreaming of being a mother since a very young age.
"If you know me, you know i’ve dreamt about motherhood since i was very young," she wrote. "When asked what my goals are, it’s always the idea of a big healthy happy family & whatever comes along is a plus."
At the time of the announcement, Kehlani kept the identity of the father under wraps, but described him as her "best friend and quite frankly the only man on Earth I trust." The following week, she revealed in an interview on Nicki Minaj's Beats 1 show Queen Radio that her mysterious partner was her guitarist, Javie Young-White.
