IV Jay went from covering hits on Instagram to signing a major label deal in a matter of a few years. Now at 17, the Paterson, New Jersey singer-songwriter is building her career release by release.
Today, she shares the video for her latest single, "With You," where during a jewelry store robbery IV Jay envisions a life with an employee who catches her eye. The narrative offers a sweet look into their relationship, and also features IV Jay hanging with her day ones.
The Shy Boogs and Take a Daytrip-produced "With You" follows the release of Jay IV's debut EP, IV, a four-song project she dropped last October via So Amazin Entertainment/Atlantic. Fans should expect more music from Jay IV in 2019, who recently told Complex what her writing process is like. "I have to be by myself for some reason. It's easier for me to write when it's kind of just a few people in the room. And I have to have some type of candle, low lighting. I need to be in a very calm environment," she explained. "I'll probably draw little doodles on the side [of the page], and then it'll just start flowing out."
