The abject nightmare I fell asleep into was indeed the same one into which I awakened this morning, but at least there's another new Lana Del Rey song out to distract me.

Late Tuesday, Lana gave us the perfectly titled "hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have - but i have it." The delightfully minimalist track, per a press release, is technically the third "fan single" from the Norman Fucking Rockwell era. The album's first official single is still forthcoming.

Lana first announced the song last week, also tucking in the news that she would be canceling a few upcoming shows as Norman Fucking Rockwell thankfully approaches the beginning of its existence. "I wish I could fulfill those obligations but I won't be able to," she said in an Instagram update that has since been deleted. Several dates have now been removed from the tour section of her website, including a stop in Portugal.

The new album notably features contributions from noted Lorde and St. Vincent collaborator Jack Antonoff, including on "Hope." The Bleachers frontman also produced and co-wrote previous Norman Fucking Rockwell "fan single" releases "Mariners Apartment Complex" and "Venice Bitch." Back in December, the two performed a pair of country-inspired songs that aren't expected to make the final cut of the album.
