Benny the Butcher's name has been everywhere in the past year—including on a ton of our lists. So it only makes sense that the Buffalo rapper would use his time in the spotlight to bring out artists on his own imprint, BSF (Black Soprano Family) Records. The first of these is Benny's longtime producer RickHyde. RickHyde is as nice on the mic as he is behind the boards, as his track "Intro," the video for which we're happy to premiere, demonstrates.

The IceRock-produced track is, appropriately enough, the intro on RickHyde's album Plates, which you can find digitally here. RickHyde explained why he chose it to be the first taste most people will have of the project.

"I chose this song as the first video because of the bar work...and it’s the story of me! It’s RickHyde!" he told Complex in a statement. "The intro to me is an experience through eyes of the average young n*gga in Buffalo...and moreover, the world. 'They wear all black to celebrate your life, and to take it.' C’mon ain’t nobody starting their verse off like that!"

You can watch "Intro" above, and keep an eye out for the vinyl release of Plates, coming soon on the Dutch record label De Rap Winkel. The album has features from El Camino and, of course, Benny. Beats are largely from DJ Shay, with additional contributions by IceRocks, Chup the Producer, DJM80, and Coltrane.
