YNW Melly has been on our radar as someone to watch for months now, thanks to his hit song "Murder On My Mind." Now, following up his full-length project I Am You, the 19-year-old Florida rapper is coming back with a horror movie-themed track that will give you nightmares.
"Freddy Krueger," which Complex is proud to premiere, finds Melly teaming up with Tee Grizzley for a melodic but aggressive song. The horror movie icon is mentioned in the hook: "I'm in your dreams, Freddy Krueger," they rap.
Grizzley has a brand-new project, too. Still My Moment features guest appearances from Chance the Rapper, Offset, and Quavo, as well as beats by Tay Keith and CuBeatz. Melly was very excited about teaming up with him for their track. "It was the first song me and grizzley did as u can see the chemistry was unbelievable," he told Complex in a statement. "2 extremely talented individuals from the same background/lifestyle combining theatrical melodies and punishing bars every line!"
Grizzley said that he formed a strong friendship with Melly while recording.
"Me and my dawg Melly knew what we was gone do in the studio because we both great at what we do," he emailed Complex. "To our surprise we surpassed our expectations and made all hits and building a brother like bond while doing it."
