Skinnyfromthe9 was reportedly arrested this week after he allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a man in the Tri-state area.

According to MyCentralJersey.com, the up-and-coming rapper was taken into custody along with with his father, David Andres Villegas; his brother, Joshua Villegas; and their associate Troy Warren. The charges stem from a Thursday incident in Somerville, New Jersey, where Skinny and the other three suspects allegedly coaxed the 21-year-old victim into a car.

Authorities say that once the vehicle began driving off, Skinny—legal name David Alex Villegas—grabbed the victim’s phone and began punching him in the stomach. The suspects are accused of driving around for about an hour, while they continuously struck the man. The victim claims he was eventually taken back to the Villegas’ residence, where the assault continued.

According to MyCentralJersey, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force Tactical Narcotics Team are assisting the case and have executed search warrants on the suspected vehicle and Skinny’s home.

The four suspects remain in Somerset County Jail while they await detention hearings.
