Nicki Minaj Has an Issue With People Saying Her North American Tour Was 'Canceled'

The 'Queen' rapper continues to take aim at music journalists, following a headline that stated her upcoming U.S. tour was "canceled" rather than "rescheduled."

Nicki Minaj hit up the ‘Gram on Wednesday to reveal another nominee for her “Cock Sucka of the Day” award. The announcement was accompanied by a screenshot of Billboard’s headline: “Nicki Minaj Details North American NICKIHNDRXX Tour Cancellation: ‘I Don't Have the Time to Rehearse.’”

Nicki apparently had an issue with the word “cancellation,” so she instructed her fanbase to track down the reporter and let them know they weren’t happy.

“Barbz get me the name of this writer then hit them & tell them this is one black woman they will not bully into a corner by FRAUDULENT SHAMING TACTICS,” she wrote in the caption. “[…] Cancelled what? Where? The narrative they are trying to create is disgusting. But I must say, I’m enjoying this. I love bringing some excitement to this shit. I love having the balls others only dream about […] There’s another publication I’m giving CSOTD award to. I won’t tell you who. It’s a surprise.”

Nicki will present the “Cock Sucka of the Day” award during Thursday’s episode of Queen Radio.

On Tuesday night, Live Nation announced the North American leg of Nicki’s tour had been pushed back from September of this year to spring 2019. The company also confirmed Future would not be part of the North American trek “due to scheduling conflicts.”

“Nicki Minaj will be announcing new North American dates to kick off in May 2019,” Live Nation wrote. “Refunds for the previously scheduled North American dates will be available at point of purchase, with new Nicki Minaj on-sale details announced soon.”

Shortly after the changes were announced, Nicki posted a video in which she explained her decision to delay the North American tour dates. The Queens rapper claimed she simply needed more time to rehearse.

“Future and I will now start the European leg of our tour first, so those dates will stay exactly the same and the US leg of the tour will now start in May,” she said. “With Future’s schedule, I may have to take another co-headliner or I may just do it like I did The Pinkprint Tour and it wouldn’t be a co-headline. I probably will just have three or four opening acts […] This is all happening because I pushed my album back two months and I just finished writing and recording literally hours before the album came out. Now, I simply don’t have the time to rehearse and be on the road and give you guys the level of a show I need to give. I really apologise but it will be worth it.”

Nicki named another music publication as a nominee for the “Cock Sucka of the Day” award earlier in the week.
