The lives of the rich and famous often escape our understanding, but you could be forgiven for assuming when celebrities hang out they, like the rest of us, made plans via text or call. Instead Azealia Banks apparently decided to post up alone at Elon Musk’s house for days waiting for her future collaborator and Musk’s girlfriend Grimes to show up.
News surrounding Grimes and Musk’s unlikely pairing continues to kind of annoy/creep people out, especially when presented with photos like these, but imagining Azealia Banks waiting around the hallowed halls of the Tesla founder’s mansion is nothing short of hilarious. How did she even get in there?
Banks is meeting up with Grimes, or trying to, so she can finish up her new album Fantasea II: The Second Wave. “Omg I’m listening to f2!!! All the songs are finished except lorelei and grimes song,” she tweeted in July. “I have a session next week with Alex Carapetis to lock lorelei down. Then I go to LA to finish grimes and oh yes!! Finish Paradiso two! But daaaaaaaamn there’s some heat!”
But she also shelved her project at the end of July, after feuding with Nick Cannon and the crew of Wild ‘N Out, announcing on Instagram, “I need some time to relax and bounce on dick. I’ll release new music when I feel like it."
We know Banks is at Musk’s thanks to a tweet published on Sunday capturing her Instagram story. “Literally been sitting at Elon Musk’s house alone for days waiting for Grimes to show up and start these sessions,” she wrote. “I have no idea when she is coming back. I’m going to wait one more day then I’m going to go home.”
In another post to her story she wrote, "staying at musks house is like a real like episode of 'Get Out.'" Hopefully she expands on that soon.
What makes this whole thing even more wild is that Grimes liked that tweet (!!!), but still hasn’t shown up for the recording session. Unfortunately this story poses more questions than it answers. Did Elon build Grimes a state-of-the-art studio in his house? Do we think he sits in on her studio sessions? Also where are they and why aren’t they worried people can just come by and chill for days? Who is feeding Azealia Banks while she's there? Stay tuned...?
