Memphis rapper BlocBoy JB made a huge splash earlier this year when he collaborated with Drake for his single "Look Alive," which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It didn't take him long to deliver on the hype that single afforded him, releasing his latest full-length project, Simi, only a few months later.
Simi arrived in May, and BlocBoy's been keeping the momentum going with a number of new tracks since. Today, he's dropped yet another banger. After teasing a song he worked on with Lil Uzi Vert, BlocBoy has released a video for his new song "Woah." Built around a simple refrain with a straight to the point visual to match, "Woah" sees BlocBoy at his finest. It's a good example of his distinctive appeal, teasing listeners that whatever comes next will be just as worth checking out as Simi.
The XXL 2018 Freshman seems determined to keep his relentless release schedule going, too. In 2017 alone, he put out three mixtapes, so it doesn't seem all that unreasonable to expect yet another project from him sooner rather than later. Aside from the Uzi collab he teased, however, BlocBoy has been tight-lipped on what to expect from him next.
