Teyana Taylor Shares Snippet of New Song Ahead of Album Release

Teyana Taylor's album is almost here. But first, she's giving fans a chance to hear the music to come on Instagram as she shares a Sister Nancy–sampled song.

Teyana Taylor's album is almost upon us.

Earlier this year, Kanye West announced that he's producing and releasing several albums this year, including his own solo project, Ye, a Kid Cudi collab, Kids See Ghosts, and Pusha T's Daytona. Nas' album is slated to be next with a release date set for June 15. But before that, Teyana is offering up a taste of what's to come.

In an Instagram video, Teyana dropped a video of herself singing along to a song which samples Sister Nancy's "Bam Bam." The classic dancehall track was which was also used in Lauryn Hill's "Lost One," another song Teyana may be drawing inspiration from. This would be the third song which gives a nod to Hill this year after Drake's "Nice For What" and Cardi B's "Be Careful" sampled "Ex-Factor" off of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

"So I don't sleep on nothing/not even on my bed/I be the one, that's true," she lip-sings with a filter over her face. "You just lost one, cause you just lost a real one, one one, one."

"#KTSE COMING TO YOU #6/22/18," read the caption of the clip.

Similar to the previously released projects, it'll likely be all produced by 'Ye. However, it won't be following the seven-track format of the previous releases. Earlier this month, Teyana told a fan that the new album will have more than seven songs.

Although each of the previous 'Ye drops have been met with mixed reviews, fans seem to be anticipating Teyana's album to be the first universal hit. Time will tell.
