Lil Yachty Wants a Part in 'Atlanta' Season 3

Yachty was supposed to have a part in the first season of Donald Glover's FX series, but life—some "sh*t," specifically—ultimately got in the way. Now, Yachty is campaigning for a Season 3 role.

Lil Yachty, like anyone who wants to be associated with the most inventive TV series in years, is still pushing for a part on Donald Glover's Atlanta.

Tuesday, Yachty was publicly bothered by—honestly, who else?—TMZ while in downtown Los Angeles for a Fortnite tournament. When the botherer in question brought up Atlanta's recent Season 3 renewal, Yachty looked back on the Season 1 collaboration that could have been. "I was supposed to be on the first season but I had shit to do," he said. "I couldn't make it. I remember that some shit was supposed to go down but I couldn't even do it."

Since then, Yachty has been taking every possible opportunity to plead for another shot at Atlanta. "Bruh, I've seen Donald Glover, like, twice and every time I ever see him I say, 'Bruh, please put me on the show.' He knows. ... I spoke to him about it and I understand where he's coming from. He knows what he's doing."

Preferably, Yachty added, his Atlanta role would be "a goon, a drug dealer, [or] a crack addict." Yachty also noted that he's currently pursuing acting, in general. "I don't know yet, but something," he said of his plans.

Yachty previously spoke very highly of Glover's artistry during an appearance on Complex's Peter Rosenberg–hosted late-night series Open Late. Calling Glover's work "so dope" and "so funny," Yachty detailed a Met Gala run-in he had with the artist also known as Childish Gambino.
