The ever-growing market for Afrobeats music in Britain hosted its crowning moment to date over the weekend, as poster child and now global star Wizkid sold out the O2 Arena for Afro Republik. Amongst the support cast on the night, Maleek Berry, Yxng Bane and Sona were some of the many Brits who took to the stage as the scene's expansion continues to flow strongly.

Today, Afrobeats producer SmartBeatz unveils a new drop ahead of forthcoming mixtape, Certified, and we spoke to the London-based beatmaker on how he pulled it all together. "I sent RaysMuzik the instrumental as he was about to leave a studio session," he says. "I said to him, 'Don't go without recording the hook at least.' Once RaysMuzik laid his vocals, I sent the record to Larry D, who added some live electric guitars to the record, and brought it further to life."

This resulted in "Don't Go", a percussive fusion of Afro-bashment and vibrant melody. Take a listen exclusively above.
