Vince Staples Addresses Fabricated Story About Him Trying to 'Save' Kanye West

Staples asked his followers to stop sharing the article and even questioned the intelligence level of anyone who believed it.

After returning to Twitter earlier this month, Kanye West has become the subject of countless news stories that address his controversial political statements, his rumored mental health issues, as well as his alleged family disputes. Some of these reports are so bizarre and confusing that it can be difficult to discern what’s true and what isn't; which is why Vince Staples has shared a seemingly obvious reminder to his followers: Don’t believe everything you read.

Earlier this week, a satirical online publication posted a story about Staples’ alleged attempt to “save” Kanye from the Kardashian family. The piece included fabricated quotes from the Big Fish rapper, as he described a night in which he faked a relationship with Kendall Jenner in attempt to infiltrate a “Saturday Spirit dinner” hosted at Kris Jenner’s house.

Here’s a portion of the fake report:

So we go to the dining room for dinner. I volunteer to say grace. I started but they’re like – wait – we have to get the cameras ready. So they get their phones out, all the women start angling for the right picture on their phones…the food getting’ cold. Rob come downstairs, get a plate then take it back upstairs. They finally get their angles. Then Kim say “1,2,3, play” and just say “that’s exactly what I mean!” and laughs. Then the whole family just starts laughing with her and they act like they were talking all along. It was hella quiet just 30 seconds ago. I’m like oh, sh*t they really faked a whole family conversation for the camera! They took one bite of the food, turned the cameras off and left the dining room.

It was a bizarre account that apparently fooled a lot of people, including Chrissy Teigen.

@KimKardashian 1, 2, 3, PLAY! ❤️

On Saturday, Staples publicly addressed the satirical story and asked his followers to stop sharing the article. Of course, he delivered this message in the classic Staples way: “[…] This is day 4 of a conversation about a fabricated interview on a satire website that nobody ever heard of and I’m starting to think you niggas are actually stupid. Also good morning.”

Stop reposting that fake article by the way. I would never take an Uber to roscoes don’t insult me like that.

I don’t do press unless it’s in print and I stopped doing that last year. With that being said this is day 4 of a conversation about a fabricated interview on a satire website that nobody ever heard of and I’m starting to think you niggas are actually stupid. Also good morning.
