Fifth Harmony Address That Savage Moment at the VMAs: 'The Four of Us Are Fifth Harmony'

Fifth Harmony booted a fifth member off the stage at the 2017 VMAs, and now they're here to tell you why.

Fifth Harmony showed up to the VMAs and left no doubt what they thought about their departed fifth member, Camila Cabello. This already should have been obvious if you were paying attention over the last year, but by symbolically booting a fifth person off the stage during the award show, they added an exclamation point to their defiance.

Once fans caught wind of it, the (not-so) sneak diss became one of the most talked-about moments of the 2017 VMAs, so you had to know the group was going to be asked about it in the days following the show. And now they've come clean about it, indicating it was a statement on not needing a fifth member, period, let alone Cabello.

"We get asked all the time if we’re getting a fifth member," Ally Brooke said on Good Morning America. "We wanted to show the world in an artistic way that, hey, the four of us are Fifth Harmony, and we're stronger and better than we've ever been."

No punches pulled there! Brooke would go on, telling a screaming audience at Good Morning America how much it meant to them.

"Honestly, it was such a monumental moment for us. We were at the VMAs!" said Brooke.

If Fifth Harmony feels that way, some of their fans (and all of their critics) appear to disagree. As the group continued to shade Camila, they faced backlash from those who feel they should just move on with their lives.

They have shown this in the worst way, it is still unnecessary and disgusting
the only thing y'all showed the world was that y'all can't get over camila and how y'all need her to stay relevant but ok.
yeah right😂 looking for excuses to justify how petty & inmature they looked after that unnecessary shade.they need to move on & grow up!😷
so many ways to show this but preferred to put a falling doll, tragic and ridiculous

I'm always here for Team Petty, but I don't know if kicking a fake fifth member off stage is the way to show you've moved on from a past member bouncing. It's like boasting about breaking up with an ex while out with your friends, and then sending sappy text messages at 1 a.m. trying to rekindle the old flame.
