Buddy and Kaytranada Deliver a Feel-Good Video for "World of Wonders"

The Compton rapper pairs his upbeat single with carefree visuals.

In 2016, Compton rapper Buddy reintroduced himself with an uplifting single simply titled “Shine.” The uplifting track worked as a great foreshadowing of what was to come. Last month, he and beloved Montreal-raised producer Kaytranada joined forces for their collaborative Ocean & Montana EP and proved that they have an undeniable chemistry when it comes to making music.

Following in the footsteps of his previous videos for “Shine” and “Find Me,” Buddy teams up with director Andy Hines once again for visuals that make the viewer feel like he’s let them into his private circle for the day.

“World of Wonders” has an upbeat tempo that perfectly soundtracks the settings as Buddy enjoys his day hanging with friends, dancing in the street, and chilling at home with his pet chameleon. The short clips of real life squeezed in the middle almost create a home video aspect, making the visuals feel familiar and fun.

If there’s one thing both Buddy and Kaytranada are great at, it’s making music that genuinely feels good. Upon a first listen, “World of Wonders” stands out among the rest of the bunch thanks to a deep groove that makes it impossible to not want to dance as soon as the beat drops. And the video only helps to heighten that euphoric mood.
