Wyclef Jean reunites with Young Thug on their newest collaboration, "I Swear." The track is pretty much an instant heater with island-infused production and an airy hook that perfectly blends both artists' capabilities, and they reflect the same theme in the beachy music video.
This is now the second time the two have linked, with the first coming on Thug's Jeffery project on the "Kanye West" track. Thugger named all of his album tracks after his idols that he admires. If you remember, the first track was named for Wyclef Jean so it's no surprise that the rapper would be down to work with Wyclef again.
The respect seemed more than mutual with Wyclef recently raved about his time working with Thugger, comparing him to legends like Tupac and David Bowie. "He reminded me of a modern Tupac, in a sense—in a revolutionary sense," Wyclef told Pigeons and Planes. "I mean that by, alright, you might see a thug, but his connection to history seemed similar to what Pac understood, of like, 'This is who the Black Panthers are. Read this book, read that book.' This kid understands." In Wyclef's own words, Thugger "is a revolutionary. He's changing the thought pattern."
Watch the video for the pair's new collaboration above, and be sure to catch Wyclef when he sits down with Ebro Darden Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET on Beats 1. You can also read Wyclef Jean's recent interview with our P&P family right here.
