John Legend is back with new music. On Friday, the Oscar-winning singer/songwriter rolled out “Love Me Now,” the first single off his forthcoming studio album Darkness and Light. Legend, who has been teasing new music for weeks now, debuted the track during a Thursday night Facebook Live broadcast, in which he also revealed details about his fifth studio album.

“I’m so excited to for you hear everything we’ve done. The music is really, really good,” he said on Facebook. “It’s going to be really exciting; I think it’s my best work yet.”

Legend said he believes Darkness and Light is his “best work yet,” and will include features by everyone from Chance the Rapper to Miguel to Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes. And, by the sound of it, “Love Me Now” is a fitting intro to the new album, as it will reflect Legend’s thoughts on love as well as his experiences as a father and a husband.

“‘Love Me Now’ is all about living and loving to the fullest, no matter what tomorrow may bring,” he explained.

Darkness and Light is set to drop before the year’s end; however, there’s no official release date at this time. While we wait for more details to drop, you can listen to “Love Me Now” above, or stream on all digital platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
