Selena Gomez keeps thinks simple and sexy in the new video for her latest Revival single "Kill Em With Kindness." The Emil Nava-directed (Pusha T, Ed Sheeran, Tove Lo) visual opens up on a black-and-white Gomez who sits on a stool as she sings the opening lyrics to the track looking like she is seriously considering the weight of each word. From there, the camera pans across different monochromatic views of Gomez as the Benny Blanco and Rock Mafia-produced heater picks up speed. Before long, Gomez is joined by dancers on a rooftop as she slinks across the screen with a shot that could easily double as another Pantene commercial.
It's understandable why Gomez would keep the visuals for the track so sleek considering it's profound and personal meaning to her. "'Kill Em With Kindness' is lyrically my favorite song I put on the record and I definitely can’t wait to be able for that to have a story," she told 97.5 NOW FM back in March when she announced the track as her new single. She has also been stepping up her game when it comes to all the videos for the songs off Revival, including "Good for You" and "Hands to Myself."
Gomez has been killing it on her Revival arena tour, commanding the stage while delivering a stream of her radio hits. It's easy to see how her dedicated following earned Gomez her second No. 1 album.
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber recently re-followed Gomez on Instagram. As expected, the news has caused their legion of fans to lose it on social media and has left many speculating/hoping/praying that the two are back together, or at least friends again. Either way, the follow is a beacon of hope for many who were disheartened when Gomez crumpled up a fan's sign reading "Marry Justin Please" like yesterday's trash. It's hard to know what is going on in Gomez's personal life, but it's clear she is slaying when it comes to her growing music career. Watch the video for "Kill Em With Kindness" above and be sure to catch Selena on her current tour.
