A biography based on Michael Jacksons last days will be adapted for television.

Tavis Smiley’s unpublished book, Before You Judge Me: The Triumph And Tragedy of Michael Jackson’s Last Days, was picked up by Warner Bros Television, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The deal will have Smiley developing a script for both cable and broadcast.

The upcoming TV series will focus on the last 16 weeks of the King of Pop’s life. During this time, he was preparing for his comeback concert series This Is It, which was set to kick off in London. Unfortunately, Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009 after going into cardiac arrest, just 18 days before his opening performance at the O2 Arena.

Smiley’s other book, My Journey With Maya, is also being adapted for TV. The memoir is about Smiley’s nearly 30-year friendship with author and poet Maya Angelou.

MJ's television series is slated for June 2016.
