Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are scheduled to perform at the MTV VMAs this weekend, so naturally, they drop a new single leading up to the show. The single, which is titled "Downtown," is a funky blend of pop, rap, G-Funk, everything in between, with Macklemore rhyming about buying a new moped over the wild, and snappy production.
Kool Moe Dee, Eric Nally, Melle Mel, and Grandmaster Caz all have credited features on the song, which is probably destined for plenty of radio success in the near future. In comparison to Macklemore's previous song, "Growing Up," which was an ode to his daughter, this release has the commercial appeal that fans have grown accustomed to from the Seattle native.
