Last month, Mila (formerly Mila J) and L.A. duo BC Kingdom linked up for an entrancing new EP, Press Start. Mila, who plans to release a proper debut album sometime later this year, told i-D that she was "able to tap into a deeper / darker side of myself that I’ve been wanting the world to see and hear." With Mila's pop background and BC Kingdom's dark, hazy vibes, the three crafted a stunning project, that they're now releasing short visuals for before dropping any official videos.
"We wanted to capture the mood of the music, so when we shot these audio-visual shorts we did it renegade after midnight in different areas of LA," they told Complex over email. "These shorts act as thematic moving backgrounds for the music, not music videos but more so pieces that captures the essence and beauty of our collaboration." Today, you can check out the short visual for "Menagerie" above, a woozy, colorful visual shot at a karaoke spot.
