Mysterious Brooklyn-based artist Advanced Boi's first single "Advance Yourself," threw shade. Calling his musical style, "Pro-Talk," he refers to himself a "purveyor of progress," and uses his music to encourage (read shame) the rest of humanity to get on his advanced level. "Pro-Talk," short for Provocative Talk, combines elements of house, ballroom, R&B and rap. Today Advanced Boi is back with a new single "Tigers and Bananas." It features production by Tony Quattro (Trouble & Bass) and a hook from BOYSLASHFRIEND, co-written by Jason Scott Henderson. The track was executive produced by Obey City. It clearly takes a team to be this advanced.
According to his label's press release, Advanced Boi grew up in Russia working as a club dancer from a very young age. He got sick of the Eastern European spotlight, well before he turned 18. It was only years later, after relocating to Brooklyn, that he started writing music to help the stylistically-challenged American public refine their lives. His Twitter avi leads us to believe he either is, or has some association with that amazing Russian child boss, whose impeccable dance moves made this video go viral inspiring 10-year-olds everywhere to level up. Although his real identity cannot be confirmed at this time, but this story will be updated as new details emerge.
