Helsinki's Elaski has put out a bunch of quality stuff over the past year or so, with both remixes and original production. His balance in this realm has actually been solid but it seems like his remixes typically outweighed his originals on the repeat plays. And with this post, I'm pleasantly surprised to say this new one, "Lanes," is definitely helping the cause to even this ratio out. The crunchy head nod appeal is what immediately brought me in but the arpeggiated and melodic string sounding synths give it that super nice balance of tension that I was seemingly on the hunt for. I guess what I'm really trying to say here is I kind of fuck with this tune in a really good way. Definitely would love to hear some more tracks like this from him for sure.
