Sevyn Streeter has been hard at work recently, and due to songs like songs like "nEXt" (both the original with Kid Ink and the remix with YG) she is stepping confidently into the spotlight. Despite the fairly new recognition, she's been putting out music for a minute, both behind the scenes and in front of an audience. She got her start as a member of two different girl groups: RichGirl and TG4. She's also penned hits for some of today's more notable names including Ariana Grande, Kelly Rowland and Chris Brown.

Complex News caught up with Sevyn for a brief interview, to talk about her work with Chris Brown, among other things. Sevyn highlights Breezy's versatility and creative freedom as an influence on her own music. She also illustrated in which ways she feels R&B has morphed over time, and especially recently, with an answer that's pretty straightforward. But when we ask her when her album's gonna drop, she gives probably the most roundabout—and yet, honest—response we've heard in a while.
