People who's feeling might have been hurt by the gauntlet Kendrick Lamar threw down with his verse on Big Sean's "Control" last night, in order of potential hurt-feely-ness:
1) Jay Z, Nas, Eminem, Andre 3000...who Kendrick puts himself on a par with.
2) J. Cole, Big KRIT, Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electronica, Tyler the Creator and Mac Miller. Who Kendrick calls "new niggas" and says he's trying to murder them and erase them from their fans' collective memory.
3) Rappers not even mentioned.
By Kendrick's definition, everyone excluded from the first category is a "new nigga" and advises them not to get involved. And that second category is a pretty good run-down of what one might call lyrics-focused rappers relevant and working today. And so being left off both lists? If you are a lyrics-focused rapper working today? Ouch! What about your relevance? (Wouldn't you want to get involved like, immediately?)
There were plenty of big-name rappers left off Kendrick's lists. We're wondering why. We came up with some guesses. Here are 10 Rappers Kendrick Lamar DIDN'T Mention On His "Control" Verse.
