Lil Wayne's health status has been a point of contention most of tonight. Finally, with a Tweet, Weezy himself has decided to provide an update.

TMZ sparked controversy when they initially reported that Weezy was being given his last rites in the Intensive Care Unit of the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Shortly after the report, which also indicated that Weezy was in an induced coma, emerged, blogger Karen Civil, Mack Maine, Birdman each took to Twitter to reject the claims.

Mack Maine went on to call out TMZ for the report, accusing them of deceiving the fans, before announcing that Wayne himself would issue a tweet to prove that he was okay. Shortly thereafter, Weezy tweeted, "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love."

Wayne isn't in a coma...

Shortly after making their initial report about Weezy receiving his last rites, TMZ retracted that update, but continued to declare that the rapper's mother was taking a plane flight into Los Angeles. It is believed that any major health decision would await her final decision. Following Weezy's tweet, the website reported that the rapper remains in critical condition in the ICU, and that he is currently asleep and facing an "uncertain" prognosis.

After initially being hospitalized on Tuesday for seizures, the New Orleans rapper was released from the hospital on Wednesday, but was found unconscious in his room hours later by one of his bodyguards and readmitted.

TMZ further reported that Wayne was initially placed in restraints because he was shaking uncontrollably, and was later placed in an induced coma. He is believed to be breathing through tubes.

Sources have indicated that the current hospitalization may be due to a codeine overdose. The report suggests that Wayne's stomach has been pumped three times to flush "high amounts of codeine" from his system.
