Earlier today, Grimes hopped on her Tumblr to air out her personal feelings on the hate Beyonce's received following her inauguration and Super Bowl performances, how she thinks PSY's "Gangnam Style" is great, and how Mariah Carey "shattered the fabric of my existence."
Upon seeing that some sites were reporting all of this as news, the Vancouver artist quickly deleted the post and threatened to send her entire Tumblr into the Internet's recycle bin.
Sure enough, she did exactly that within minutes, though not without airing out her frustrations with notes like:
nothing i write here is an official statement and i really resent this shit turning into news but i guess i should have learned my lesson the first time that happened
And just like that, her personal thoughts went through the inevitable cycle of non-news-that's-becoming-news-because-she-doesn't-want-it-to-be-news-but-wait-we're-making-non-news-into-news.
Grimes also waved a proper goodbye with, "im out because i need some semblance of a normal life in order to be happy." She also said that she's still available elsewhere, like on Twitter, so it's not a true "bye internet <3."
