Big Boi continues to be in the spotlight since his second album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, is about to release on December 11. But just about every Outkast fan has wondered when Andre 3000 will release some new music, too. Three Stacks has appeared on a number of show-stealing verses throughout the year. Still, he has yet to release a solo track of his own.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Andre 3000 discussed how his creative process is operating these days. He understands that many of his dedicated fans are watching his every move and feels that a solo album may come if he’s up for it. For now, though, things are still up in the air. He also speaks on tuning out any Outkast reunion rumors. Read some excerpts below.
On his creative process and making new music:
"I miss creating all the time and I miss going with blinders on and not thinking about anything. It's such a sad thing because now, people judge everything that I do. Because I don't do it much, they analyze every word and before, you could've had a shitty verse and people just forgot about it. So it's different now."
"Things are kind of up in the air with me, and some days, I feel like yeah, I'll do it. Some days, I feel like, I don't. I don't know the future of music right now. I have no idea what I do. I honestly don't. I record and I write ideas. I think I'll always do that, for some reason. But I don't know if it will go to another artist or will it be my stuff or will it go to some movie? I don't know. I just kind of keep creating and hopefully, it'll fall into a slot."
On the Outkast reunion rumors:
"What's crazy is, I don't read the Internet. I've never had a Twitter, I've never had a Facebook. None of that kind of stuff, because it makes me mad to read it sometimes. I just don't. I don't hear all the rumors."
