In an interview with BBC's Zane Lowe, Frank Ocean explained that he wanted to go into this solo album without Kanye West's influence. According to what was said in the interview, Ocean told West: "As much as I want to work with you… I kind of want to do this without you. I kind of want this to be done without you. I kind of want to do it on my own."
The Odd Future singer also revealed that the album was almost complete, and that he's just getting the production worked out. He's been debuting some of his new music during his current tour.
