Having a chokehold on mainstream hip-hop isn't enough for YMCMB. The label is looking to flex their muscle on the pop world too. During a press conference in Beverly Hills earlier this week, the label announced the signing of their first pop act Savvy, joining the likes of Kevin Rudolf and Jay Sean as non hip-hop acts on theroster.

The group consists of Shaylen Carroll, GiGi LeMaire, Drew Reinartz, Alan Shaw and Andrew Stern, who also star on the international TV comedy "The Wannabes," making its series debut in the U.S. September 5. They are in the process of recording for their album and Ronald "Slim" Williams has very high hopes for the quintet.

Cash Money has been making headlines the past few days because of Lil Wayne's recent released Tha Carter IV album, which has already broken iTunes records and is on pace to sell 925-975K albums in its first week.
