Hurricane G f/ Erick Sermon & Red Man "Milky"

A classic WKCR exclusive that still causes a storm on the Internutz. If all existing recordings of “Milky” sound murky that’s because, as Stretch Armstrong explained in 2007 on his now-sadly-rarely-updated blog, konstantkontact.blogspot.com, “There was never a master or even an acetate or DAT...strictly cassette, so what you hear is pretty much as good as it ever sounded. Why it didn’t launch Gloria’s career back then, I don’t know. Maybe it was some baby-mama drama with Erick Sermon, but I can’t call it.” Hurricane G would finally release a (“Milky”-less) debut LP, All Woman, on H.O.L.A. Records in 1997, but this mysterious demo rarity was far and away her finest moment.
